Dearly beloved in Christ,
I greet you in the sweet name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Once a lady came for prayer. Her husband was working as a high government officer. But that family was deep in debt. They were daily tormented by those who had given money for the money and the interest. She was trying to restrict the home expenses by all means and yet they failed to repay the money. Her husband had no bad habits. He was transferred a number of times and the expenses doubled. They had to pay rent at two places. In their circumstances they couldn’t live together.
I asked them whether they were interested in gardening. They accepted the fact. They had planted flower bearing plants all around the house. I asked them whether they had plants within the house. They had so many plants and took care of them meticulously. I could discern that they had a plant called money-plant which they believed would bring a lot of money if they took care of it. They accepted it as truth. Because they had faith wrongly on a plant they were leading a miserable life. Psalm 34:10 says: “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” Deut. 15:6 tells us: “For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.” I told them that their misplaced faith had made them suffer under usury. She accepted the truth and took the decision to rely on God and His word and give up the old practices.
Dear Brother/ Sister, today on what or on whom do you have your faith? Is it on your wisdom, educational achievements, talents, strength, your possessions, job or business? Let it be on Jesus Christ alone. Shed your wrong beliefs. Some irritation in left palm might frighten you to think that you are going to incur vain expenses or if it is right hand you are going to receive a good payment. Decide to give up such wrong notions and place your trust in the Lord alone. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” The Lord will bless you and your dwelling place will surely be prosperous and glorious.
May the Lord bless you!
