“. . . pray without ceasing”

                                                                                                               1 Thes. 5:17

Dearly beloved in Christ,

I greet you in the sweet name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Once we had been to Sri Lanka to do ministry in a region where there had been fierce fighting. Then we stayed at Thirukoyilur (Batticaloa). I had to share the Word of the Lord in a Methodist Church at Akkarapattu. The day before, we were returning from ministry at another place to the place of our stay at Thirukoyilur at night time. We were travelling on a short-cut route through the forests. I was seated near the driver. I was meditating on the verse which was given by the Lord on which I should speak the next day. All of a sudden, a wooden log was placed before our vehicle and troops came around us with rifles pointed towards our heads. We were questioned about our identity. We were shaken. I had meditated on the peace that would come upon deliverance. I shared the same message with them. I told them that we had come from India to share the message of peace that would come upon them from deliverance. Then they removed the rifles pointed at us. At that time, I was praying in my heart for mercy with a humble heart. They just asked us why they were not informed. Then they led us with their vehicle going before ours to Thirukoyilur where we were staying.

Dear Brother/Sister, let us yield to the counsel of the Lord to pray unceasingly. When we are subjected to tests in our spiritual life, He will steer us through trying circumstances and lead us daily by strengthening us. The Lord lives. From today let us meditate on His words unceasingly and pray unceasingly.

May the Lord bless you!

Bro. C. Ebenezer Paul.
